Ducks
We have four breeds of ducks at Fulkerson Farms: Muscovy, Pekin, Swedish Blue, and Rouen. The Muscovies with their unique personalities are our favorites. They are excellent sitters and great mothers. Because of their proficiency in parenting, our flock continues to grow and we often sell ducklings and adults to friends and neighbors.

Pictured above are two Swedish Blue drakes.

Pictured above is one of our Rouen drakes. They are colored like Mallards, but don’t fly, therefore they are much easier to keep as pets.

Pictured above is one of our Pekin drakes hanging out with a couple of Muscovy drakes. Pekins are the domestic white ducks that many think of when they form a mental picture of a duck. Donald Duck was a Pekin.

Pictured above are a few of our Muscovy hens protecting the young ducklings. The mothers often work together to guard the young and will continue to “mother” their babies until they are well developed. The two ducklings on the left are nearly full grown, but still stay close to their mother.

Pictured above are three Muscovy drakes, just hanging out.

If you look closely in the above picture, you can see two Rouen hens and a drake, swimming on our pond.
